Getting Healthy in 2023
4 Important Resolutions to Achieve
.
It’s coming to the end of the year. This means we’re all starting to reflect on what happened over the course of 2016, what we did and didn’t achieve.
.
It then goes without saying that we’ll also make resolutions to make 2017 a better year if we have failed in certain areas in our lives in 2016.
.
An area of prime importance would definitely be our health, physical as well as emotional.
.
After all, where would we live if our bodies quit on us, if it broke down? Without good health, all else in life is nothing. This is serious food for contemplation, no laughing matter.
.
Below are 4 vices and ruts to quit and get out of this year…and achieve sparkling health in 2023!
.
.
Getting Healthy Important Resolution #1
Quit Smoking
.
If you’ve often thought on and off about quitting smoking, why not just bite the bullet and make it your main health goal for 2017?
.
The most important aspect of quitting smoking is your own ability to believe that you can do it.
.
If you don’t really want to quit for your own sake, then you’ll probably find that it’s very difficult to do.
.
Read up on the health benefits of quitting, and go with nicotine patches and gum to help.
.
.
If you miss having something to do with your hands, try vaping or take up a hobby like knitting in the evenings.
.
Try hypnotism which works wonders. Meditation helps reduce the stress linked with quitting, so give it a good try. Finally, you can just go cold turkey and give it up once and for all.
.
Put together the money you’ve saved from quitting smoking and spend it on something you really want at the end of each month.

Getting Healthy Important Resolution #2
Quit Drinking
.
More and more people drink to excess these days, particularly young people.
.
Not only is drinking excessively extremely bad for your body (the health of your liver disease is negatively compromised), it’s also bad for your mental health.
.
If you have any mental health problems like depression or anxiety, your habitual self-medication with alcohol can make those illnesses considerably worse in the long run.
.
If you can, avoid gatherings where alcohol is likely to be drunk to excess. Instead, suggest brunch or coffee with your friends instead of going on a big night out.
.
If you’re having problems quitting drinking, look into intense recovery treatment for addiction.
.

Getting Healthy Important Resolution #3
Quit Stressing
.
‘Stop being stressed out’ sounds a lot easier said than done. In all honesty, it is possible to relax more. Your health and sanity are at stake.
.
If your job is the source of your stress, then talk to your manager to figure out how you can work more smartly.
.
You owe it to yourself not to work yourself up into a state of unhealthy stress. If that doesn’t work out, it’s time to look for a new job – your health will always be more important than your career.
.
Make sure that you take as much time off for yourself as you can.
.
.
Try out yoga videos on YouTube. Have at least one lunch time a week when you take yourself off to a coffee shop with a book and treat yourself to your favourite drink. Or go play your guitar in a relaxing spot. Chill!
.
Remember that you’re the most important person in your life and that your happiness is crucial.
Getting Healthy Important Resolution #4
Quit Unhealthy Relationships
.
.
.

If you’re in an unhealthy relationship, whether that’s with a friend or partner, make 2017 the year when you end it.
.
Assuming you’ve done all you want to salvage the relationship, make the decision that it’s time to move on.
.
.
If you’re intimidated by your partner, make sure that you have other people around when you end the relationship. Then change your number and the locks after they’ve moved out.
.
It’s a good idea to simply let bad friendships drift away. If that person you wish to remove from your life is persistent, be honest with them; that’s the kindest thing to do.
.
Then revel in the joyful lightness you’ll feel once you’re free of the people in your life who are holding you down.
