Your 6-Step Guide: How you can eradicate these Bad Habits once and for all

A habit is usually something formed over a period of time. It isn’t always a long period of time either.

All it takes to build a habit sometimes is 21 days. If you do something repetitively for that long, then it begins to become second nature.

Eliminate Bad HabitsThe longer you do it, the harder it can be to quit. That doesn’t mean you can’t quit, though.

It might take some hard work and will power, but anybody can change if they really want to.

This step by step guide will help you to eradicate your bad habits:

1. Figure Out What Your Bad Habits Are

You may already know what your bad habits are.
.
Some of them might be glaringly obvious. Perhaps you smoke and drink to excess.
.
Maybe your bad habits are a little more subtle. Maybe you have a habit of snapping at people, or getting up late.
.
Figure out what all of your bad habits are so you can begin working on them.
.

2. Work On One At A Time

beat bad habitsNow it’s time to prioritise these habits. Start working on one immediately. Don’t delay – this will only lead you to put it off until you forget about doing it entirely.

There are so many ways you can work on your habits. You can quit cold turkey. You can do things like tapping along your meridian points.

It’s a case of waiting it out for long enough that it is no longer a habit.

Don’t fall back into your old ways after 21 days though. The longer you keep it up, the less you’ll miss your old bad habit.

3. Take Baby Steps

Breaking Bad Habits Taking baby steps can help and seem less scary sometimes.

Maybe it’s admitting you have a problem to somebody you love, and then getting help with them.

Maybe you
eat a ton of junk food. If so, it’s a case of cutting that down and incorporating some vegetables, rather than completely changing your diet straight away.

4. Speak And Act As If You Have Already Kicked The Habit

The things we speak and think dramatically impact our daily lives.

If you use negative words whenever you talk about kicking your bad habit, it’s unlikely you’re going to stick with it.

Use positive language, and speak and act as if this bad habit is already out of your life.

Positive affirmations are magical! You can speak them, write them out, and even listen to yourself saying them by recording them. Your brain will soon begin to form new pathways!

5. Get Professional Help

Sometimes, a bad habit needs professional help. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Heading to
addiction treatment centre might seem scary. However, it will be the help you need to get your life back on track.

6. Surround Yourself With Supportive People

We become most like the people we spend the most time with. Surround yourself with supportive people.
.
Let them know what you’re doing, and they should help you in anyway they can. If you feel people try to sabotage you or bring you down, steer clear of them.
