How to Benefit from Healthy Winter Warmer Drinks
2 Absolute Stars That Are Fun & Great For Your Health!
.
While we bask in the last days of summer, it’s not going to be long until the winter evenings are upon us.
.
There is nothing quite so lovely as the feeling of being able to sit down in an evening, nursing a hot drink and indulging in a little TV watching. It’s good for relaxation, to the point where it almost feels like it’s good for the soul.
.
In the traditional picture of this evening bliss, the drink will usually be hot chocolate. There’s good reason we reach for it through the darker months; a sweet little pop to put a smile on our face.
.
With that said, it’s not ideal to be consuming so much sugar and chocolate. One mug could clear 200 calories, and that’s before whipped cream.
.
There are a few different beverages to enjoy through winter that don’t involve hot chocolate. What’s more, they can be their own little health boost as well – giving you comfort, a sensory experience, and doing good as well!

Healthy Winter Warmer Drinks #1
Fire Cider
.
You’re not likely to want to drink this by the mugful.
.
Many lovers of fire cider attest to its abilities to warm you up. Other reported benefits include an immune system boost.
.
Plus, you can also use it on a tissue and inhale if you get a cold.
.
This needs to be prepared and left to steep for up to a month in an airtight jar. Apple cider vinegar is your base, and you then add to it equal parts of:
- Horseradish root
- Ginger root
- Turmeric
- Zest and juice from lemons (amount of lemons depends on size jar – one per 250ml)
- Jalapeno peppers (again, one per 250ml)
.
Leave in a dark place with the lid firmly secure. When a month has passed, strain the spices out until you have a clear liquid. Add honey if you need some sweetness.
.
Take a couple of tablespoons per day. It might be a shock at first, but when accustomed, you’ll swear by it!
.
Please note: Fire cider is not alcoholic, despite what the name may suggest. Nor is it on fire.
