3 Top Tips to Manage A Complexion Challenge
.
.
Our skin is something that many of us take for granted. We put it through a lot – exposing it to artificial heat, drenching it in water and covering it with makeup.
.
Many of us suffered from acne as a teenager and even into early adulthood. Apart from that, most of us tend to accept our clear skin as just another part of our bodies.
.
However, if you suffer from a skin condition, it can be a different story altogether. Skin conditions can range from the minor (the odd bit of acne) to the severe (ailments like psoriasis and eczema).
.
As well as being physically uncomfortable. they can also be regarded an unsightly, which can knock your confidence and your self-esteem.
.
.
If you are currently suffering from a skin challenge, here are 3 Steps you can undertake to make it more manageable.
.
Keep Your Skin Healthy, Hack #1
Get a proper skin diagnosis
.
This might seem obvious, but you wouldn’t believe the number of people who diagnose themselves and self-medicate.
While certain at-home remedies and alternative medicines do work for some people, there isn’t any concrete medical evidence that they do work. In some cases, you could unknowingly be making your condition even worse.
.
Always seek professional advice before attempting to manage your condition in any way. As well as visiting your doctor, it is also worth speaking to professionals in the field about your skin condition.
.
You can do this by using psoriasis apps. There are also support groups you can attend for confidential, friendly advice.

Keep Your Skin Healthy, Hack #2
Stick to a treatment plan
.
It can be very disheartening to embark on a new treatment plan (maybe tablets, or perhaps creams) and to see little to no result in those first few weeks.
.
If your condition has been getting you down for some time, it can be very easy to enter any new treatment plan with high hopes and expectations of immediate relief.
.
But bear in mind that these things take time to work. Don’t give up your current treatment for a new one just because it hasn’t worked as fast as you would have liked. Give it time, and then if it doesn’t work even after a few months, go back to your doctor and get a second opinion.

Keep Your Skin Healthy, Hack #3
Live A Healthy Lifestyle
.
.
Some skin conditions such as eczema can be hereditary. In such a case, the kind of lifestyle you live won’t bring it on or make it go away.
.
Your lifestyle can, however, have an impact on how often your condition flares up or worsens. Not getting enough sleep, eating an unhealthy diet and drinking too much are all said to impact on the severity of many skin conditions.
.
Try and take care of your overall health too. Being mindful of your mental health is also worth looking into, as stress can be a common factor when it comes to the worsening of skin conditions.
.
Consider practising meditation or yoga to help you relax and stay calm. In some cases, you’ll notice that it helps you stay much more on top of your condition.
