Why Use Natural Remedies & Treatments?
We need to let go of our OVER reliance on prescription and over-the-counter drugs
.
What do you do when you catch a cold? Most people would head to the medicine cabinet, grab a flu/cold over-the-counter drug and take it.
.
What about when you have a headache? You’d either take some rest and shrug it off. However, most people swallow a few aspirins or other painkillers.
.
There’s almost always a quick medical drug to get around ailments. Human beings have become reliant on medical drugs because they offer us a simple and quick way to mask whatever ailment they have at that very moment.
.
But consider this. When we drink coffee, we feel its effects and we get a boost of energy to kick start our day. But what happens when we become too reliant on it? We start to crave the caffeine and we can’t start the day without it.
.
We get so used to the effects that a single cup of coffee won’t do it. We’d need several cups just to start our day. That’s because we’ve built both a reliance on caffeine and also an immunity to its effects.

The Dangers of Over-the-Counter Drugs
.
The availability of easy-to-access drugs has turned us into medicine junkies. Are you sick and coming down with an illness? Then there’s probably a pharmaceutical drug created to deal with it. It’s become something that we rely on for our daily lives, and we’re neglecting natural remedies.
.
We visit our doctors for everything from dangerous diseases to common colds. As lay people, we don’t understand much about how our bodies work; most of us haven’t studied about our bodies which are so important to us.
.
A doctor will be treat your cough/cold, but to the lay person, it’s just a cough and there’s medication we can take to remedy it.
.
Sadly, it has led to many defective drug cases in the past. The power of over-the-counter drugs has made it easy for the lay person to take their healthcare into their own hands. This is probably to avoid costs, to save time and not to have to take (often) dangerous prescription drugs which have side effects.

Go Natural
.
.
If you have a cold, stop reaching for the medicine cabinet. Instead, switch to natural remedies to heal yourself first.
.
We need to stop relying on medical drugs. Instead we should focus on healthy living to prevent illnesses happening in the first place.
.
Of course, it’s sometimes unavoidable to catch something like a cold or the flu no matter how healthy we are.
.
For colds, a treat remedy is to drink lemon with honey.
.
Here’s how to do it: Slice a lemon and place it into a cup, pour boiling water and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Once the water has cooled down, add some honey and mix it to taste. If you can handle it, add a slice of ginger as well.
.
Lemon, honey and ginger contain properties that slow down the spread and growth of microbes which cause infections. The vitamin C in lemons can also strengthen your immune system; honey contains anti-viral properties to help treat colds.
