From Pregnancy to Birth
A Healthy Journey for Both Mother and Baby!
Taking care of your health is always a priority you should never neglect. That is especially true when you fall pregnant.
.
Many scholars and physicians believe good health before conception is important. Of course, you can still do a great deal to improve your health when you’re expecting.
.
Your body will become home to your child for nine full months. For some women, that can feel like an eternity. For others, they find themselves in the delivery room wondering where all the time went!
.
.
First Trimester
.
These are often described as the worst weeks for expectant mothers. You may feel very unwell for much of the time. There are many normal and natural reasons for this, and it doesn’t usually indicate that anything is wrong.
.
Morning sickness can, however, become very serious. You may lose weight but, more seriously, you may become dehydrated. Even if the thought of drinking water makes you feel sick, it’s important to keep trying.
.
In just a few weeks all of this will be over, and you’ll be enjoying the happiest point of your pregnancy.
.
.
Second Trimester
.
This is the time you get to know your baby. You’ll feel movements and ‘kicks’ from about twenty weeks.
.
Your hormones could be providing that healthy glow that pregnant women often boast about. Now is also one of the most important times for your child’s development as well.
.
Healthy eating throughout your pregnancy will nourish your foetus and improve your own healthy immune system. You’ll need a lot of strength for the next few months!
.
.
Third Trimester
.
By the end of this period of pregnancy, many expectant mothers are tired and grumpy! The extra weight and pressure on the posture can be incredibly uncomfortable. Excessive ‘kicks’ can feel quite painful too.
.
Chances are you’re starting to worry about the birth and going through the ‘nesting’ phase too. Try not to turn to comfort foods. As you’re less active now, it will be hard to burn off excess calories.
.
,
Birthday
.
Your child’s birthday will be a lot of hard work for you. You may be frightened, and you may be very tired as well.
.
It can take many hours of labour ‘twinges’ before your cervix is fully dilated and ready for your child’s birth.
.
Medical assistance is desirable here, and many parents prefer a hospital environment. It’s true that things can go wrong, according to some cerebral palsy attorneys.
.
But it is important you keep breathing and stay focused on your task of birthing. You’re about to meet your bubba!
.
.
The First Week
.
This is a very busy week for you. You’ll have plenty of family around you wanting the meet the baby.
.
This period of time can cause quite a lot of stress. You need to learn how to change diapers, and you’ll need to master nursing. Neither of these are easy challenges!
.
You can find additional help from your midwife team. You’ll also be taught how to wash your baby and how to help your little one sleep well.
.
.
Your health is so important during these nine months. Diet is perhaps the most important thing to consider. You should also exercise regularly throughout your pregnancy. Why not try pregnancy Yoga or swimming?
.
Congratulations!
