Smoking kills over six million people a year. This is an astronomical figure, and enough to panic anyone that is hooked on smoking.

Of course, not every method suits everyone in the same way or helps them recover as quickly as others. Some people have an ability to go Cold Turkey and recover the hard way. Others may require assistance it getting clean.

For this reason, we have separated them into two different camps.

1. Going Cold Turkey

Stop SmokingThis method simply means stopping smoking on the spot. It does work. Many people have been able to completely stop smoking for good without any relapse.

Often, it starts first with a desire and a firm decision to quit smoking for good. Prepare you mind first. When your mind has accepted the idea and instructions, the body follows its orders.

2. Adopt A Positive Mental Attitude

It could be that you have tried to quit before but failed. This then can have an affect on your ability to quit again.

4. After Dinner Smoke

SmokingIt is often everyone’s favorite. So why not change your routine so that you don’t sit there thinking about your craving.

Get up and do the dishes, or go for a walk. Anything that will take your mind off things.

5. Use A (Temporary) Nicotine Replacement

The way this method works is to provide you with low levels of nicotine, just without the tar or any of the other poisonous chemicals that tend to be present in cigarettes.

What’s great about this is the variety of methods available. They allow you to pick the one that most benefits your challenges.

It could be that you could use nicotine patches to put on your arm. Another alternative is a spray which you spray on your tongue. Or try gum which will allow you to reduce cravings.

6. E-Cigarettes (Temporary use only ~ as a band aid)

This is likely to do with the fact they satisfy people’s needs to inhale nicotine and APPARENTLY without the harmful effects of smoking. (However, it has been now discovered that vaping has led to popcorn lungs in some of the vapers. Not good…)

There is no burning, so there is no smoke. What’s more, the popularity is APPARENTLY justified because two out of three people who use e-cigarettes end up successfully quitting smoking for good.

However, there could be long-term ramifications of secondary side effects further down the lane, so this may not be a good long-term solution. Remember those popcorn lungs. Also it is not very friendly for people around the vapers who has to breathe in the cloud of dubious smoke emitted by these vapers.
