Sunshine Vitamin D is The Best Bone Builder
Sun exposure to the skin is the human race’s natural, intended, most effective and most neglected source of vitamin D.
The New England Journal of Medicine did the following study: Researchers did 11-double-blind, random, controlled tests on over 31,000 participants, all of whom were 65 years or older. These participants were taking oral vitamin D supplements.
Those participants who were on a high dosage of vitamin D (800 to 2,000 IU daily) had a 30% lower incidence of hip fractures and 14% fewer fractures of other bones.
In addition, further studies indicated that an increased vitamin D intake reduces the risks of diabetes, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, certain cancers and heart attacks.
Vitamin D is vital to good health – its benefits are many, and one should not skip it.
A good recommended supplemental dosage is 2,000 to 5,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily.
